Won the category for best Community Relations at the Gold Symposium 2023 event, hosted in the city of Belém, Para with over 73% of the votes.
2023 has seen 18 definitive programmes completed in the communities, 34 donations and the team have held 113 meetings with community representatives.
Key activities include
- Investment of $500,000 in community programmes
- Maintain clean water and electricity to local communities
- Road and infrastructure maintenance
- Support for local indigenous communities
Recent community education and engagement initiatives include
- Jewellery design and manufacturing courses.
- Environmental education including understanding the needs for collecting and proper disposal of waste and the establishment of an Environmental Scouts project for the local communities.
- Young Apprentice Project involving 20 people aged 14 to 24 selected from local communities to train them to work in a corporate environment. The programme is in partnership with the National Service for Industrial Learning (SENAI) and Serabi also donates computers to local schools as part of the programme.
- Childrens Day – activities and gifts for children in the Jardim do Ouro and São Chico communities.
- Donation of a playground to the school in the community of Moraes Almeida.
